Dear Friends,
After 33 absolutely amazing years, I have decided to officially retire. I have met so many wonderful people and made many friends through the years, and I will always cherish the memories. Your loyalty has been much appreciated. The Crystal Connection closed its doors on July 31, 2020.
About 17 years ago, a young lady came into our store and told Jim and I that she wanted to work there. We gave her an application to take home and fill out which she returned the very next day. And then she came back the following day to check in, then the next day and the next and so on. We had been debating on whether to hire someone with the primary job of polishing jewelry- an unending job. We offered the job to this young lady and she started right away. Even though she was still in high school and had no job experience at all, her enthusiasm was obvious.
It didn’t take Jim and I very long to realize that LEAH was capable of doing so much more. When our full time sales associate had an emergency and had to leave right away (in the midst of the Christmas shopping season), she jumped right in and started serving our customers. She practically trained herself! She continued to work part time until she graduated from High School and then went on full time during the summer. After she went off to college in New York, she continued to work with us whenever she had breaks and during the summers. After college she came on full time and has been with me ever since. She has been my right hand and my left hand, and I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her. She has learned just about every facet of the business.
I am very happy to tell you that Leah will be reopening the store soon under the name of Minerals & Mystics. She has many exciting new ideas which she will share with you soon. And an added bonus, Stephen, Beth and Ashley will be staying on with Leah in her new store.
Thank you again for the last 33 years, and I know you will enjoy working with Leah and the crew as they start the new adventure. Leah will be contacting you soon with more news, and I hope you will plan on visiting Minerals & Mystics.
